Irresistible snack
Spicy bread is one of the specialties bearing the city's brand. Small, long bread, clamp inside is fresh pate, with the characteristic richness of melted fat, the aroma of liver and fried garlic... Crispy grilled bread, dipped in Hai Phong chili sauce is a delicious and irresistible gift, conquering diners of all ages.
Recorded on some central streets such as Le Loi, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Kenh... during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, spicy bread stalls are always crowded with customers. Each tray of golden brown cakes by the charcoal stove, the characteristic aroma attracts tourists.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Thao (a tourist from Hanoi) said: "My family just had a 2-day 1-night vacation in Cat Ba and spent another day experiencing a Hai Phong food tour. Because the family has many young children, the most popular snack is still Hai Phong spicy bread, young children eat it 2-3 times and still don't get bored. The bread is compact, easy to preserve, and has a very unique spicy pate flavor. Before returning to Hanoi, the family also bought 200 cakes to take home as gifts for relatives.

According to Mr. Do Duy Anh (Ninh Binh tourist), previously hearing information on television about a company's pate product that was not safe, his family was somewhat hesitant. However, Mr. Duy Anh researched and learned that the traditional pate brand in Hai Phong is handmade, safe and has been protected by the city for many years. "On this trip to Hai Phong, my family stopped by Hang Kenh street to buy and enjoy as a gift. The snack is only 3,000 VND but very delicious, unlike anywhere else" - Mr. Duy Anh shared.

Regaining position in the hearts of tourists
After a period of being affected by the Ha Long Canned Food case, the streets famous for trading in spicy bread and traditional pate products in Hai Phong are bustling again. Ms. Huyen - a household business owner selling spicy bread and pate on Hang Kenh street - said that compared to previous years, purchasing power during this year's holiday has not decreased. Households still maintain an average price of 3,000 VND/bread, 180,000 - 200,000 VND/kg pate, not increasing compared to normal days. Some customers come early in the morning, ordering hundreds, thousands of breads. "DuRING the 4 holidays, we increased staff to produce bread and pate, and sold them out as soon as we made them" - Ms. Huyen said.

It is known that during the long April 30th and May 1st holidays, Hai Phong City welcomed hundreds of thousands of tourists.
