According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the two sides discussed many contents related to bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as discussed many measures to promote potential areas of cooperation in the coming time.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang said that since the beginning of 2024, Vietnamese and Ukrainian enterprises have been constantly searching for new trade gateways. Thereby gradually restoring the growth momentum of trade turnover between the two countries.
In the period of 2025 - 2026 and the following years, the Deputy Minister hopes that economic relations between Vietnam and Ukraine will recover strongly. The two countries will increase trade via EU transit routes, while seeking economic sectors with high potential for cooperation in the context of reconstruction. The use of Vietnamese labor resources and enterprises in Ukraine will play a key role in promoting traditional relations.
To further enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation, the Deputy Minister suggested that the two sides should coordinate in organizing online trade connection programs and promoting substantial cooperation in the coming time, focusing on exchanging market information, conferences and forums connecting businesses, participating in international fairs, promoting national brands, as well as organizing a delegation of Ukrainian businesses to Vietnam to survey the investment environment.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister also invited the Ukrainian business community to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 event series and the following years, thereby expanding market access channels, finding partners and investment opportunities.
The two sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges, supporting businesses in exploiting potential fields such as trade - logistics, agriculture - processing, information technology - digital services and infrastructure recovery and reconstruction projects.
Within the framework of the meeting, Ambassador Oleksandr Gaman said that Ukraine is recognized by the international community as a strong IT hub. Thereby, the Ukrainian side respectfully invited Vietnam to expand cooperation in developing software, cyber security, artificial intelligence, while encouraging increased business-to-business interaction and being ready to share experiences in digital governance such as e-government, e-commerce and a transparent procurement system.
Regarding the resumption of the activities of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic - Trade Cooperation, the two sides agreed to assign technical levels to conduct exchanges, reviews, study the feasibility of organizing the 16th Session in the coming time and report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
