VNA reported that on August 24, the event "Korea - Vietnam Global Exchange" was solemnly held at the Chunghyodang relic site in Bongseong commune, Bonghwa district, North Gyeongsang province, where the relics of the Ly Viet Nam family are preserved.
The event was chaired by Bonghwa district, the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ly Viet Nam family in Korea to strengthen the foundation of cooperation and exchange between local governments and people of Vietnam and Korea.
The event includes the roofing ceremony of the Community Center, Vietnam Cultural Day and the Ancestor's Ceremony of the King Ly Thai To monument in the space of the Vietnamese village in Bonghwa.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Ho An Phong, officials of the Ministry of Culture of Korea and the Northern Gyeongsangbuk province, Chairman of Bonghwa District Park Hyeon Guk, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, Consul General of Vietnam in Busan, Doan Phuong Lan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Park Hyeon Guk said that Bonghwa was the homeland of the Ly Dynasty's royal family when they arrived in the land of Gyrorio and this place has long been an invisible bridge for the close relationship between the two peoples of Korea and Vietnam.
The inauguration of the Community Center, the relic of King Ly Thai To is the first step towards the great and extremely meaningful dream of creating K-Vietnam Valley in Bonghwa: connecting culture, people, traditions and the future.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that this year's Vietnam Cultural Festival will be even more meaningful when taking place in Bonghwa district - a land associated with the Ly family, a sacred symbol of historical exchange and the strong friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea.
Within the framework of the festival, the inauguration of the Monument to King Ly Thai To and the model of "Vietnamese Village" will open up a new space for cultural exchange, not only attracting Korean tourists but also being an attractive destination for Vietnamese tourists and international friends.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, in his congratulatory speech, emphasized that more than a millennium ago, Ly Cong Uan - also known as Ly Thai To - installed and opened the glorious Ly Dynasty, laying the foundation for the thousand-year-old throne of Thang Long - Hanoi. If Ly Cong Uan is a symbol of national construction, his successor - Prince Ly Long Tuong - is a symbol of exchange and connection between the two peoples of Vietnam and Korea.
The journey of Prince Ly Long Tuong to the Korean peninsula more than 8 centuries ago was the first bridge connecting the two peoples, reminding us that the Vietnam - Korea friendship has deep roots in history.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the Vietnam - Korea relationship has developed remarkably, becoming a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The relic of King Ly Thai To at Bonghwa has become a symbol of faith, friendship and a common aspiration for a prosperous future.
