In the context of Vietnam aiming for double-digit economic growth, ensuring energy security and promoting energy transition becomes an urgent requirement. This is not only a solution to implement emission reduction commitments, but also an important driving force to promote growth, improve competitiveness and attract green investment capital flows.
In order to create a multi-dimensional exchange forum between management agencies, experts, scientists and the business community, Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes the Workshop "Energy Transition - Motivation for Two-digit Growth Goals" at 2:00 PM on June 9, 2026 at the Headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper, No. 6 Pham Van Bach, Cau Giay, Hanoi.
At the workshop, speakers focused on discussing the opportunities and challenges of energy transition; the role of renewable energy and biofuels in green growth; and at the same time proposed solutions to improve mechanisms and policies, promote investment and ensure national energy security.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Economic Science Association
Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong is a Vietnamese scientist and politician, with many contributions in the field of economics and policy planning. He used to hold the position of Vice Rector of the National Economics University; National Assembly deputy of the XIV and XV terms. He also served as a Member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council and participated in the National Assembly's Economic and Finance Committee, with many contributions in building and criticizing Vietnam's macroeconomic policies.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang - Institute of Energy Technology (Hanoi University of Science and Technology)
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Thermal Energy, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and is also an expert with many years of experience in the field of energy technology, efficient energy use and sustainable energy development.
With a background in in-depth research and practical experience in the energy field, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang regularly participates in consulting, criticizing and contributing opinions to programs and policies on energy transition, renewable energy development and energy saving.
Mr. Do Van Tuan - Chairman of the Vietnam Biofuel Association
Mr. Do Van Tuan has many years of experience in the field of energy and biofuels, participating in promoting the development of the ethanol fuel market, building raw material areas and perfecting mechanisms and policies for the biofuel industry in Vietnam.
In the past time, he has actively participated in policy consulting and criticism and contributed many professional opinions on the roadmap for using biofuel, developing the circular economy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring national energy security.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Public Policy Expert, Lecturer at the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi)
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet graduated with a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from Kassel University, Germany.
His main research fields include:

Previously, in the period 2020 - 2023, she held the position of Director of External Relations at Nam Energy, in charge of promoting policy dialogue and supporting the removal of legal obstacles related to the rooftop solar power sector.
In the period 2023 - 2025, she held the position of Director of Government Relations and Public Policy for Southeast Asia at Edelman consulting company (USA).
She used to work at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and the British Embassy in Hanoi, where she accumulated a lot of experience in policy analysis and public-private partnerships.
In addition, the workshop also had the participation of leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of the Electricity Department, leaders of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade).
