On June 8, the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Da Nang City announced the admission benchmark scores for 10th grade of public high schools (THPT) and specialized high schools for the 2026 - 2027 school year. According to the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Da Nang City, the admission benchmark scores of 69 public high schools recorded a large differentiation.
Phan Chau Trinh High School has the highest benchmark score with 35.5 points, followed by Hoa Vang High School (33.75 points), Hoang Hoa Tham High School (33.25 points), Nguyen Khuyen Secondary - High School (32.5 points), Tran Phu High School (31.75 points) and Thai Phien High School (31 points).
The group of schools with the lowest benchmark scores includes Nguyen Duc High School (7.5 points), Nam Tra My High School (7.75 points), Au Co High School (8 points) and Tieu La High School (8 points).
For the specialized high school block, Le Quy Don Specialized High School has benchmark scores for subjects respectively: Chemistry (47.14), History (41.25), Literature (44.00), Biology (46.50), English (42.95), Japanese (43.68), French (41.50), Informatics (39.00), Mathematics (43.75), Physics (43.39) and Geography (44.64). The specialized Literature class of this school applies auxiliary criteria including specialized subject exam scores from 5.75 or higher and winning consolation prizes or higher in the 9th grade city excellent student selection exam in the 2025-2026 school year.
Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted has benchmark scores for subjects including: Chemistry (37.25), History (34.50), Literature (39.25), Biology (38.25), English (38.05), Informatics (25.35), Mathematics (37), Physics (38.25) and Geography (37.64). Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted enrolls subjects with score levels: Chemistry (36), History (34.14), Literature (40.25), Biology (39.50), English (39.55), Informatics (31.48), Mathematics (38.5), Physics (37.75) and Geography (35.5). The specialized Mathematics class of this school considers a secondary criterion that is the average score of all subjects assessed by the score for the whole year of grade 9 must reach 9.86 or higher.
The benchmark scores for specialized foreign language classes 1 include French - Phan Chau Trinh High School (32.13), Japanese - Phan Chau Trinh High School (27.5), Japanese - Hoang Hoa Tham High School (16) and French - Nguyen Hien High School (13.38). Quang Nam Ethnic Minority Boarding High School takes a benchmark score of 19.75 for Kinh ethnic students and 14.25 for ethnic minority students.
In principle, for admission consideration, the Department of Education and Training only considers candidates who take all the prescribed subjects and achieve the minimum score: no exam paper is scored 0 (for public high schools); each common subject exam is scored 2 or higher and the specialized subject is scored 3 or higher (for specialized high schools); each exam paper is scored 1 or higher (for ethnic minority high schools and Quang Nam high schools). The benchmark scores for nguyện vọng 1 (NV1) and nguyện vọng 2 (NV2) of each public high school or specialized subject are equal; candidates who have been admitted to NV1 are not considered for NV2.
The admission process is carried out from high to low to recruit enough quotas. In case there are 2 or more candidates with equal scores in the final quota, the system applies auxiliary criteria in order:
For specialized high schools, priority is given to candidates with higher specialized subject scores, higher average specialized subject scores for the whole year of grade 9 (Informatics replaced by Mathematics), and higher prizes in the 9th grade excellent student exam at the city level in the 2025-2026 school year, and higher average scores for the whole year of all subjects assessed by scores in grades 9, 8, 7, 6 respectively.
If there is still more than one candidate with the same score in the final criterion, the school will consider admission with a guaranteed number of no more than 35 students per specialized class.
The secondary criteria of Quang Nam Ethnic Minority Boarding High School also apply similarly based on the 9th grade excellent student award at the city level, academic results for the whole year and average scores of subjects respectively in grades 9, 8, 7, 6, controlling the class size not exceeding 35 students.
The admission consideration order is implemented in turn according to the steps: considering specialized classes of specialized high schools (NV1, NV2); considering admission to Quang Nam Ethnic Minority Boarding High School (direct admission, entrance exam); direct admission to public high schools; considering admission to foreign language class 1 Japanese, French of public high schools; and finally considering admission to mass public high schools in order NV1, NV2.
