Building a trusted e-commerce ecosystem for people to shop with peace of mind
On the afternoon of June 25, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX), the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) coordinated with TikTok Vietnam, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) and e-commerce consulting and operation units to organize a training program with the theme "Long-term business - Starting from the law".
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh - representative of TikTok Vietnam - affirmed that TikTok Vietnam will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to create a digital generation that is both creative and legally informed, building a professional and reliable e-commerce ecosystem, which is the basis for consumers to shop with peace of mind.
Mr. Thanh also said that in the coming time, implementing the revolution of streamlining the apparatus and implementing the 2-level local government model, tax agencies will also be rearranged to suit the arrangement of provinces and cities. Therefore, organizing training courses will provide additional knowledge for sales entities on e-commerce platforms.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX), Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - completing the legal framework is a key factor to ensure the sustainable and transparent development of this field in Vietnam.
Regarding e-commerce business conditions, Mr. Tuan pointed out that sellers and e-commerce platforms need to strictly comply with regulations to ensure a healthy business environment.
"For sellers, the prerequisite is to have clear legal status, provide accurate information about themselves and goods and services, and publicize sales policies such as return and guarantee. In particular, it is mandatory to notify or register an e-commerce website/app with the Ministry of Industry and Trade" - Mr. Tuan explained.
eComDX Director emphasized - for e-commerce trading floors, the responsibility is even heavier. The platforms must register with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, develop transparent operating regulations, establish information control mechanisms and support dispute resolution. The platform also needs to require sellers to provide full legal information and closely coordinate with state management agencies in preventing counterfeit and counterfeit goods.
Completing the tax legal framework for e-commerce
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa - Head of Tax Management Department No. 2, Tax Management Department of e-commerce platforms (under the E-commerce Tax Department - Ministry of Finance) - the tax sector prioritizes completing the tax legal framework for e-commerce. The industry continuously reviews and supplements to ensure consistency and efficiency in the face of the rapid development of e-commerce platforms and cross-border business activities. The goal is to create an equal playground, prevent tax losses without still hindering the development of e-commerce.
Regarding tax declaration and payment via digital platform, Mr. Hoa assessed this as a big step forward, bringing double benefits by helping businesses, individuals and business households save time and costs through the General Department of Taxation's Electronic Information Portal (eTax) or the eTax Mobile application.
In particular, the Portal for households and individuals doing business on e-commerce platforms has made declaration more transparent and easier. The use of digital signatures and VNeID electronic identification accounts also contributes to improving security and convenience.
"Taxpayers should regularly update the HTKK software, carefully check information, and should not wait until the deadline to make transactions when the transmission line is easily overloaded due to receiving too many documents at the same time. The tax industry is always ready to support and accompany the digital business community to make the process of tax obligations go most smoothly" - Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa emphasized.
