Hot demand due to weather
Since the Lunar New Year, Ms. Pham Khanh Van (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) has brought her pet to the spa for increasingly increased care. Explaining the reason, Ms. Van said that due to the hot weather, pets need to be bathed and trimmed regularly to avoid skin and fur diseases, especially heatstroke.
High demand has caused Ms. Van's monthly pet care costs to increase significantly. In addition to fixed expenses, Ms. Van estimates that the amount of money for pets to bathe, prune and stay has increased from 1.5 million VND to 2.2 million VND/month.
Every 1-2 weeks, I take my dog to a care service to prune her hair, avoid heat stroke in hot weather as well as have regular health check-ups, especially for skin and fur diseases. On days of long business trips, I even send my dog to a spa for accommodation in air conditioners, Ms. Van shared.

Also having to pay for increased care costs during the hot season, Ms. Pham Thien Nghi (O Mon district, Can Tho city) said that this is the amount of money that needs to be spent to ensure the health of pets.
If normal, Ms. Nghi often bathes her cats at home, but in the hot season, the pet will be taken to the spa for the staff to take care of and check. The period of periodic barding is also shortened from 3-4 weeks/time, down to 1-2 weeks/time.
In the hot season, the most frightening thing is that pets get heat stroke or infections on their fur. I think it is best to prevent. Otherwise, the cost of treatment will be more expensive than bathing or pruning," said Ms. Nghi.
Revenue increased by 20%
Sharing about the business situation in the past 2 months, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Duy (owner of a pet care service store in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) said that among the services at the store, bathing and pruning is the most popular.
"Every year, every hot season, the number of customers coming to the store asking for pruning and bathing their pets also increases. The price of bathing ranges from 70,000 - 250,000 VND/time, depending on the size. The hairdressing and shaving service ranges from 200,000 - 500,000 VND/time, depending on the size," said Mr. Duy.
Through updating and getting customer information on the system, Mr. Duy estimates that on average, customers will bring their pets back to bathe every 3-4 days. The feather cutting service ranges from 1-3 weeks, depending on the type of pet. Thanks to that, the profit of Mr. Duy's store in the past 2 months has increased by about 20% and will continue to increase due to prolonged hot weather.

To meet the increasing demand of customers during the hot season, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia (owner of a pet care service store in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) has increased air-conditioned rooms.
With a minimum price of VND90,000/day, the pet refrigeration accommodation service at the store is quite popular. For accommodation service packages from 600,000 VND or more, the store also offers another care service, depending on the package for customers. Thanks to that, the number of customers is increasing, the revenue last month is estimated to be 15 - 20% higher, Mr. Nghia shared.
