In recent days, many households in Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province) have lacked clean water for use in the dry season.
Many families in Cu Ebur commune, Hoa Thuan said they have been continuously cut off from water for many hours, their lives have been turned upside down.

Mr. Dang Quoc Dung, in Cu Ebur commune, Buon Ma Thuot city, shared that in February 2025, his family will pay water bills of up to nearly 450,000 VND, double the normal months.
Meanwhile, his family has only 4 members. For the past 2 weeks, every evening, the family's tap water source has been continuously cut off for unknown reasons.
Currently, Mr. Dung and many other households in the area have to buy more buckets and pots to take advantage of to collect clean water in the morning to use all day.

"The water supply company continuously cut off water at different times without prior notice. We are very passive, lacking clean water makes daily activities very difficult," Mr. Dung added.
Many families have invested money to buy turbocharged pumps to improve the quality of tap water use.
However, this is only a temporary solution because the pressure pump is ineffective due to scarce water resources.

Many people said that they have continuously reported this situation to the water supply company during the 2024 and 2025 dry season but it has not been resolved.
Continuing to survey in Dat Ly market area (Hoa Thuan commune, Buon Ma Thuot city) in recent days, there have also been cases of water supply to many households being cut off, not previously notified.
"Lack of water is understandable"
According to the investigation, Dak Lak Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dakwaco) is the unit responsible for providing domestic water for people in Buon Ma Thuot city. Each day, the unit provides about 50,000m3 of water to urban people.
Receiving information from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Hoang Phuc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dakwaco, said: "In the dry season, people in Buon Ma Thuot city lack water, which is understandable. People now lack groundwater for use, so they have to report a lack of clean water".
"The unit is building an additional pumping station to transfer more water to the people," Mr. Phuc added.
