Asian businesses prioritize green investment: Clean energy, electric and recycled vehicles take the throne

THÙY DƯƠNG (T/H) |

Many Asian businesses are prioritizing investment in clean energy, electric vehicles and recycling, aiming for sustainable development and adaptation to climate change.

In recent years, more and more businesses in Asia have shifted their investment direction to environmentally friendly sectors. This is not only to meet the requirements of sustainable development but also to open up long-term business opportunities in the future. The three areas that many companies prioritize include: renewable energy, green transportation and recycling technology.

Renewable energy leads the trend

Enterprises in China, India, South Korea and Vietnam are pouring strong capital into solar power and wind power. For example, Tata Power Group (India) is expanding the scale of solar power plants. In China, Longi Green Energy has stepped up the production of high-performance energy batteries.

choke-up is currently the region with the largest investment in renewable energy, said Michael Wilkins, director of the Sustainable Finance Research Center at Imperial College London. This is thanks to the government's support policies, reduced technology prices and increased demand for clean electricity."

Electric vehicles, the future of the transportation industry

In Korea, major automakers such as Hyundai and Kia are investing in the production of electric vehicles and hydrogen-powered vehicles. In Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries, companies are also developing motorbikes and electric cars to replace gasoline-powered vehicles.

Switching to electric vehicles will not only help reduce pollution but also reduce dependence on fossil fuels, Wilkins added.

Recycling and circular production

Many companies in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong (China) are investing in recycling technology and using environmentally friendly materials. For example, Daikin (Japan) developed air conditioners using refrigerants that are less harmful to the climate. Some startups also turn plastic waste into construction materials or household appliances.

It can be seen that green investment is no longer a temporary trend, but has become a long-term development strategy. Asian businesses are proving that business can go hand in hand with environmental protection, and that brings sustainable benefits to both.
