International tours closed early
The 5-day National Day holiday makes many families proactively plan to travel early. Ms. Huyen Anh (41 years old, Hanoi) said that her family had planned to travel to Ha Long (Quang Ninh) on September 2nd nearly 1 month ago.
My family chooses to book services early because the closer to the holiday, the harder it is to find suitable rooms and transportation. Currently, the whole family is just waiting for the holiday to set off" - Ms. Huyen Anh shared.
The tour market during National Day September 2nd recorded increased purchasing power in both domestic and international routes. At Vietravel, the number of customers registering for tours this time increased by about 20% compared to the same period in 2025. Notably, the time when customers learn about and finalize tours is recorded earlier than in previous years.
According to Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh - Director of Marketing and Communications Department of Vietravel, a 5-day vacation is one of the factors promoting travel demand, creating conditions for tourists to choose longer journeys.
In the domestic market, in addition to resort tourism, sea and islands, the routes Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) - Da Lat (Lam Dong), Ha Giang (Tuyen Quang) and cross-Vietnam tourism are chosen by many customers, with popular routes from 5-7 days.
For foreign tourists, China is in the group of markets with high number of registered tourists, besides South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia...
In the long-day route group, Vietravel recorded demand for the North European route Denmark - Norway - Sweden - Finland. The Italian - Slovenia - Croatia - Austria - Germany route, exploited according to the new Balkan supply, is also included in the product group with good purchasing power. "About 1 week before the holiday, the business had finalized the international tourist group, only receiving domestic tourists on a few routes with seats left" - Ms. Khanh said.
A survey at Vietluxtour at the same time, the number of customers registering for tours on September 2nd has now reached about 90% of the plan. Most of the remaining seats are concentrated in domestic tours, while international routes requiring visas and long flights have been finalized by customers early.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu - Marketing - Communications Director of Vietluxtour, purchasing power during the holidays increased steadily compared to the same period last year. For the domestic market, Da Nang, Hue, Phu Quoc and Con Dao are among the most interested groups; the number of visitors interested in Phu Quoc increased by 60% compared to 2025.
Proactive supply, ready to welcome customers
The increase in the number of customers has caused the preparation of air tickets, accommodation and services to be deployed early by travel businesses. A representative of Vietravel said that before the monthly holidays, the business has worked in advance with airlines, hotels and partners to maintain the number of seats and proactively supply during the peak period.
At Vietluxtour, the pre-booking of tickets and rooms is also carried out to ensure services for registered groups of tourists. According to Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, the business has not recorded extreme scarcity at key routes.
Not only preparing supply sources, businesses also develop operating plans to limit overload at destinations.
We will implement proactive operating procedures: Allocate off-peak sightseeing hours, work closely with suppliers to commit to quality and flexibly provide equivalent alternative destinations to ensure customer experience" - Ms. Thu said.
On Vietravel's side, businesses also proactively diversify departure dates, tour duration and service segments, while optimizing schedules, choosing suitable flight times and adding departure dates for routes with high demand.
For tourists who have not completed their vacation plans, Ms. Khanh recommends accurately checking the holiday schedule before finalizing the service, and comparing the above products according to the same standards instead of just looking at the price. "Absolutely only transact through official channels of reputable travel companies to avoid online fraud risks" - Ms. Khanh noted.
