In the North, gas prices on April 20 recorded a significant decrease in Hanoi. Specifically, the price of a 12kg cylinder decreased sharply by 31,104 VND, down to 598,104 VND - officially falling below the 600,000 VND mark. The price of a 48kg cylinder also retreated to 2,464,992 VND. Meanwhile, in Hai Phong, gas prices are almost unchanged, with a 12kg cylinder maintaining at 619,488 VND and a 48kg cylinder at 2,462,400 VND.
In the Central region, the market continued to move sideways after the previous adjustment. In Da Nang, the price of a 12kg cylinder remained at 560,000 VND, while a 48kg cylinder stabilized at 2,179,000 VND.
The Southern region recorded a clear decrease. In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of 12kg cylinders decreased by another 20,000 VND compared to April 19, down to 592,000 VND, also falling below the threshold of 600,000 VND. Notably, 48kg cylinders decreased deeply by 80,000 VND, to 2,364,000 VND. Meanwhile, Can Tho continues to be the locality with the lowest price in the country, with 12kg cylinders only about 550,000 VND.
Depending on the region and brand, the price level still has a clear difference. Notably, Petrolimex's gas price for 12kg cylinders is still maintained at 629,208 VND, with no changes recorded compared to recent sessions.
Domestic gas prices by brand
Petrolimex gas price on April 20 continued to remain stable, with a 12kg cylinder at 629.208 VND and a 48kg cylinder (industrial type) at 2,516.832 VND, unchanged compared to the session on April 17.
Similarly, Saigon Petro maintained the same price level, listing a 12kg cylinder at 654,500 VND and a 45kg cylinder at 2,455,000 VND.
Pacific Petro has also not recorded any fluctuations, with the retail price of a 12kg cylinder at 650,000 VND and a 45kg cylinder reaching 2,480,000 VND, showing that the market is still in a sideways state.
For PV GAS, selling prices continue to be stable but differentiated by region. In Hanoi, a 12kg cylinder is priced at 610,200 VND and a 45kg cylinder is 2,288,250 VND. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the price is higher, with a 12kg cylinder at 640,081 VND and a 45kg cylinder reaching 2,400,259 VND, reflecting the difference in transportation costs and market characteristics.
