According to information from the Ministry of Finance, manufacturing and trading enterprises and distribution systems have proactively prepared reserve plans, increased the supply of goods to the market, and ensured supply-demand balance. Retail activities are vibrant at supermarkets, shopping centers, convenience stores and traditional markets. Transportation and distribution are guaranteed, without causing congestion.
Market inspection and control work continues to be strengthened, focusing on price listing and selling at listed prices, quality control, origin of goods, and timely handling of speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases.
On the 29th of Tet, consumer demand focused on food, fresh food, processed food, fruits, fresh flowers and drinks. Rice prices in many localities remained stable thanks to abundant supply. Prices of pork, poultry, and seafood increased slightly in some traditional markets due to high purchasing power, while in the supermarket system they were basically stable thanks to price stabilization programs. Vegetables and fruits generally fluctuated little, some items changed slightly due to weather factors and transportation costs.
In Hanoi, shopping demand on the 29th of Tet was stable compared to the 28th of Tet, no sudden price increases were recorded. Some price levels were recorded: yellow flower sticky rice 35,000–40,000 VND/kg; lean pork 160,000–150,000 VND/kg; pork belly 180,000–185,000 VND/kg; gio lua 19,000–200,000 VND/kg; duck eggs 35,000–40,000 VND/dozen. 1.5 kg banh chung 70,000–75,000 VND/piece. Da Lat gladiolus 110,000–140,000 VND/dozen; 1.2 m tall kumquat tree 900,000–1,200,000 VND/tree.
In Hai Phong, purchasing power increased by 10–12% compared to the 28th of Tet. Prices of essential food and foodstuffs are relatively stable. Notably, flower and ornamental plant groups such as peach blossoms and kumquats decreased sharply by 20–30% on the 29th of Tet because many small traders lowered prices to clear goods at the end of the year.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the supply for Tet is abundant. At Thu Duc wholesale market, vegetable and fruit prices are relatively stable, some items decreased by 3,000–5,000 VND/kg due to oversupply. At Hoc Mon wholesale market, vegetable and fruit prices decreased by 2,000–10,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day; live pig prices are stable, some minced meat items increased by 5,000–10,000 VND/kg.
In Da Nang, many businesses closed early, and trading activities cooled down compared to previous days. Food prices are stable; pork sausage increased by 15,000 VND/kg; live hens increased by 5,000 VND/kg; type I black tiger shrimp increased slightly.
In Can Tho, purchasing power increased by 30–35% compared to normal days in the days before Tet. Prices of some items increased slightly but no shortages or unusual price increases have been recorded. In Hue, many food groups remain stable; passenger transport surcharges 20–60% depending on route.
The Ministry of Finance forecasts that on February 17, 2026 (the 1st day of Tet), shopping demand will decrease sharply after the peak period before Tet, and prices of basic essential goods will be basically stable. Some parking and catering services at spring travel and sightseeing spots may increase slightly locally but do not affect the general price level.
