On June 1, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province said that passion fruit is currently one of four crops planned to be in the province's main agricultural export product group. The goal is to develop the province's passion fruit growing area to about 10,000 hectares in the coming time.
This type of crop is bringing high economic efficiency, helping local people have a stable income. Currently, many businesses such as Quicornac, Doveco Dong Giao... have invested in building modern processing factories, exporting thousands of tons of processed passion fruit products to international markets each year.
The whole Gia Lai province currently has about 5,450 hectares of passion fruit and has been granted 48 growing area codes, a key factor to participate in the official export market.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment is coordinating with localities, enterprises, and cooperatives to develop growing area codes and packaging facility codes.
At the same time, the province has stepped up control of seed quality, input materials, application of science and technology, and encouraged production according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards.
Organizing production in conjunction with market demand not only opens up opportunities for sustainable development for the passion fruit industry, but also helps Gia Lai effectively exploit the potential of agricultural land, increasing income for local people.
In the first 5 months of 2025, Gia Lai's export turnover reached 756.9 million USD, equal to 90% of the 2025 plan and up 57.7% over the same period in 2024. Mainly exporting agricultural products with industries such as: coffee, passion fruit, rubber, banana, handicraft wood...
