Domestic gasoline and oil prices stabilize
Retail gasoline and oil prices today, August 5th, at the Military Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (MIPEC) system continue to be applied according to the adjustment level effective from 3:00 PM on July 30th of the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance and will be maintained until the next gasoline and oil price adjustment period.

According to the current retail price list, E10 RON 95-III bio-gasoline is sold at 22,850 VND/liter in region 1 and 23,300 VND/liter in region 2. Meanwhile, E5 RON 92-II bio-gasoline is listed at 22,380 VND/liter in region 1 and 22,820 VND/liter in region 2, continuing to be the item with the lowest price in MIPEC's gasoline group.
For the oil group, 0.001S diesel oil level 5 is priced at 29,720 VND/liter in region 1 and 30,310 VND/liter in region 2. 0.05S diesel oil level 2 is sold at 27,620 VND/liter in region 1 and 28,170 VND/liter in region 2.
Compared to the previous operating period effective from 3 pm on July 23, retail prices of goods at MIPEC have been adjusted upwards. Specifically, E10 RON 95-III bio-gasoline increased by 1,420 VND/liter, E5 RON 92-II bio-gasoline increased by 1,500 VND/liter, while 0.001S diesel oil level 5 and 0.05S diesel oil level 2 both increased by 1,860 VND/liter.
According to MIPEC regulations, region 1 applies in areas near ports, wholesale warehouses or gasoline and oil supply facilities; region 2 applies to areas far from supply sources, so the selling price is higher to compensate for transportation and distribution costs.
The above price level is applied by MIPEC at the entire system of gas stations, agents and retailers under the system nationwide until there is a new adjustment notice from the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance. The price adjustment is implemented according to the developments of finished gasoline and oil prices in the world market and current regulations on gasoline and oil price management mechanisms.
Ensuring supply for E10 gasoline
E10 bio-gasoline in Vietnam is blended from about 10% pure ethanol alcohol (E100) and 90% mineral base gasoline.
Currently, there are three E100 plants operating nationwide, including Dung Quat Biofuel Plant, Quang Nam Alcohol Factory and Dong Nai Alcohol Factory, with a total designed capacity of 830 m3/day, equivalent to about 24,900 m3/month and about 277,000 m3/year.
According to the leader of Vietnam Biofuel Development Joint Stock Company (Quang Nam Alcohol Factory), due to long-term investment and operation, some equipment and infrastructure have deteriorated. Therefore, maintenance and upgrading of equipment along with stabilizing product output are decisive factors for the factory to maintain capacity and ensure E100 supply in the coming time.
According to Mr. Tran Quang Kien - Deputy General Director of Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company (Gia Lai Alcohol Factory), the An Khe ethanol factory project with an investment of more than 1,700 billion VND is expected to go into commercial production in the first quarter of 2028. The factory is designed with a capacity of 200,000 liters of anhydrous ethanol per day, equivalent to 200 m3/day, the main products are food alcohol and fuel ethanol. The company has prepared sufficient conditions to implement the project, from raw materials, technology, finance to personnel.
