World oil prices today
World oil prices fell across the board in today's trading session, September 19 (Vietnam time). At 9:25 a.m. (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at $69.57/barrel, down $0.31/barrel, or 0.44%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $69.88/barrel and opened today's session at $69.17/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $73.33 a barrel, down $0.33, or 0.43 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $73.65 a barrel and opened today at $72.89 a barrel.
Global oil prices fell despite the Federal Reserve's first rate cut since 2020, analysts said. The Fed's decision to cut interest rates by 50 basis points, more than expected, initially supported prices, but the overall market reaction remained modest.
In addition, US gasoline and oil inventories increased. Accordingly, US gasoline, oil, and distillate inventories all increased in the week ending September 13. Data from the American Petroleum Institute showed that gasoline inventories increased by 2.34 million barrels; oil inventories increased by 1.96 million barrels; and distillate inventories increased by 2.3 million barrels.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On September 19, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of September 12. Accordingly, the price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased by VND 1,190/liter, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by VND 1,080/liter, diesel oil price decreased by VND 930/liter, retail kerosene decreased by VND 934/liter, and fuel oil price decreased by VND 688/kg.

PV OIl discounts on September 19 as follows: Oil discount: 1,500 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 900 VND/liter.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on September 19 as follows: Oil discount: 1,450 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,150 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 850 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on September 19: RON 95 - III discount: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 800 VND/liter; oil: 1,450 VND/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, petroleum prices may be adjusted in opposite directions, with gasoline increasing and oil decreasing. Accordingly, gasoline prices may increase by about 50-100 VND/liter, oil decreasing by about 110 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 19 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 20 times.
