World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices continue to fluctuate significantly. At the end of the weekend trading session, both oil commodities reversed to increase slightly. WTI oil price was at 68.78 USD/barrel, up 0.09 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.13%. WTI oil price closed the previous trading session at 68.69 USD/barrel and opened the weekend session at 68.45 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 72.12 USD/barrel, up 0.32 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.45%. Brent oil price ended the previous trading session at 71.80 USD/barrel and opened the most recent session also at 71.51 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, world oil prices rose slightly in Friday's trading session as the market expects negotiations between the US and Iran to progress positively, contributing to maintaining stability in the Middle East.
Market liquidity is low due to the US market stopping trading before National Day holiday 4. 7.
Analysts believe that the expectation that the Hormuz Strait will soon be fully restored to transportation activities is increasing thanks to the negotiation process between the US and Iran. However, the two sides still have many disagreements on the management mechanism and fee collection for maritime activities through this strait.
Currently, part of transportation through the Strait of Hormuz has been restored under a temporary agreement between the US and Iran. However, the situation is still potentially risky after mutual airstrikes by the two countries last weekend.
According to trade sources and sea transport data, at least 5 Saudi Arabian super oil tankers, with a total capacity of about 10 million barrels, have left the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, Aramco Oil Corporation also switched from selling oil under long-term contracts to selling at spot prices to accelerate consumption in the Asian market.
Experts believe that oil supply from the Middle East is recovering faster than forecast, while China's oil import demand remains low.
As supply gradually becomes abundant, the market also shifts to expect supply in the near future to be more stable, thereby reducing the risk of oil shortages in the global market.
