At 9 am on July 4, Cai Xa Cong port was quite quiet. Many fishing boats were in stable anchorage positions.
The work of receiving, arranging and reinforcing ships and boats here was completed from the evening of July 3.
Cai Xa Cong port is one of the familiar storm shelters for fishing boats in the Quang Ninh sea area.

After Typhoon Yagi in 2024, this area is assessed by many fishermen as a safe anchorage, often chosen when storms or tropical depressions appear at sea.
Before the developments of storm No. 1 in 2026 (Maysak), Ha Tu Ward People's Committee mobilized a number of experienced fishermen to reinforce boats, who had participated in responding to storm Yagi, and coordinated with forces at the wharf to re-inspect the entire anchorage area.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan - Head of Cai Xa Cong Port - said, Up to now, about 80 ships and boats have anchored and avoided storms at the port, these ships come from many localities in the province such as Cam Pha, Van Don, Bai Chay, Quang Yen, Ha Tu and even fishing boats of Thanh Hoa fishermen.
Implementing the direction of the province and Ha Tu ward, from the afternoon of July 3, the port has stopped issuing leave permits for ships currently anchored, and at the same time received and guided ships to avoid storms. Until 9 am this morning, ship owners still sent skilled people to stay to coordinate with forces at the port to inspect and review for the last time to ensure safety before the storm makes landfall" - Ms. Loan said.

From July 3, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Ha Tu ward has organized 24/24 hour duty; assigned forces to patrol and inspect areas at risk of landslides, collapses of works, and flooding in low-lying areas; and prepared plans to evacuate people to safe places when necessary.
