World oil prices today
World oil prices increased slightly today. At 10:28 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 70.98 USD/barrel, up 0.37 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.52%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.06 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.47 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $74.67 a barrel, up $0.38, or 0.51 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $74.29 a barrel and opened today at $74.30 a barrel.
Thus, world oil prices have been fluctuating strongly. At the end of yesterday's trading session (February 6), Brent and WTI continued to decrease by 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively. In this morning's session, crude oil prices rebounded.
According to Reuters, on February 6, US President Donald Trump reiterated his commitment to increase US production, which is already the highest in the world, in order to lower oil prices and reduce consumer inflation. This has caused oil prices to plummet.
Oil prices were also pressured by a shocking increase in US crude inventories of 8.7 million barrels, four times higher than analysts expected. US crude inventories are expected to continue to rise sharply this week.
In the short term, oil markets are expected to remain volatile as global trade comes under pressure from the US President’s rapidly changing decisions on tariffs and sanctions.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On February 7, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 6, 2025. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 51 VND/liter, the price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 74 VND/liter, diesel oil decreased by 192 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 25 VND/liter, and fuel oil decreased by 148 VND/kg.

Tu Luc Petroleum: Discount on Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,250 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 1,150; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may decrease. Of which, gasoline prices will decrease by 200-300 VND/liter; oil prices will decrease by 250-350 VND/liter.
