World oil prices today
World oil prices fell sharply in today's trading session, September 7 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at 68.16 USD/barrel, down 0.99 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.43%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 69.15 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 69.38 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $71.78 a barrel, down $0.91 a barrel, or 1.25 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $72.69 a barrel and opened today at $72.81 a barrel.
Thus, the world oil price today turned down sharply after a slight increase at the beginning of yesterday's trading session. With the sharp decline in recent trading sessions, Brent oil price is currently at its lowest level in the past 14 months and WTI oil price is at its lowest level in nearly 9 months.
Reuters cited data from the US Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics showing that non-farm payrolls increased by 142,000 jobs in August, the smallest increase since a sharp decline in December 2020, and lower than economists' forecast of an increase of 160,000 jobs.
In addition to the US employment factor, concerns about Chinese demand continue to put pressure on oil prices, according to analysts.

On September 7, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of September 5. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 353 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 282 VND/liter, diesel oil decreased by 385 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 341 VND/liter. The price of fuel oil decreased the most, by 407 VND/kg.

Discount prices of petroleum products today, September 7, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on September 7: Oil discount of VND1,600/liter; RON 95-III gasoline: VND1,600/liter; E5 gasoline: VND1,200/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on September 7 as follows: Oil discount: 1,550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,550 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,150 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on September 7: RON 95 - III discount: 1,400 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; oil: 1,700 VND/liter, 1,750 VND/liter (volume over 30 cubic meters).
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices will likely continue to decrease.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 18 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 19 times.
