According to the Hanoi Market Management Department, there were 164 surprise inspections among the inspections. Inspection and control activities focus on sensitive items such as food, functional foods, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cosmetics, etc.
As a result, the authorities transferred the case file to prosecute 22 cases, administratively handled many violations and recovered large sums of money for the budget. Notably, during the peak month of food safety, the authorities were forced to destroy more than 40 tons of violating goods - mostly unknown origin, smuggled goods, not ensuring safety for consumers.
Some typical cases include: Market Management Team No. 7 checking the business location at Minh Viet warehouse cluster (Cau Buu new urban area, Thanh Liet commune) discovered 490 boxes of mushrooms with foreign language labels that have expired. Meanwhile, Market Management Team No. 22 inspected three food businesses in Bac Tu Liem district and discovered thousands of units of cake and candy products of unknown origin.
In the coming time, the Hanoi Market Management Department said it will continue to step up inspection and control of areas at high risk of trade fraud such as e-commerce, petroleum, alcohol, cosmetics, cigarettes and food.
In addition, the authorities will deploy many major topics such as "Fod Safety Action Month", controlling production activities in craft villages during the Mid-Autumn Festival and coordinating with Steering Committee 197 to review and handle spontaneous drug markets and business locations in the city.
