The workshop was attended by Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, leaders of units, departments, districts and 400 delegates who are leaders of central agencies; embassies, international organizations; experts, managers, domestic enterprises, organizations, investors operating in the industrial parks (IPs) and Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone.
Speaking at the Workshop, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Do Manh Hien said: The Workshop is a very meaningful and necessary event, contributing important solutions in the process of realizing the goal of sustainable development and green growth of the city. In the context of increasingly complex climate change and natural resources gradually depleted, green transformation is no longer an option but an urgent requirement.

As a leading economic, industrial and seaport center of Vietnam, Hai Phong City is always deeply aware of its role and responsibility in protecting the environment and responding to climate change. Hai Phong is proud to be one of the leading localities in developing and implementing action plans on green growth, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development. The city always maintains the viewpoint: Resolutely do not trade the environment for simple economic growth.
Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien said that successfully implementing the 2025 theme: " Expanding economic and urban space; promoting specific mechanisms and policies; enhancing green transformation, digital transformation" is of key significance, deciding success in the coming years. On that basis, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board organized the Workshop with the goal of: Comprehensively assessing the current state of emissions and environmental issues in industrial parks and economic zones in Hai Phong; analyzing opportunities and challenges in the green transformation process; sharing experiences from pioneering domestic and international ecological industrial park models; proposing a system of synchronous and feasible solutions to promote green transformation in industrial parks...

The workshop included presentations and discussions with the participation of experts, leaders of domestic and international organizations and enterprises, discussing contents related to issues: ecological industrial parks, circular economy, industrial cooperation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, developing green seaports, ...; at the same time, many suggestions to effectively implement green transformation and digital transformation in industrial parks and economic zones of Hai Phong City in the coming time.
In 2024, Hai Phong will have the 5th largest economic scale in the country, the highest economic growth rate and industrial development index IIP among localities with large economic scale, the 3rd largest budget revenue, and the 2nd largest FDI attraction. The city's industrial parks and economic zones have attracted 4.35 billion USD in foreign investment, an increase of nearly 1.3 times compared to 2023. This result contributed significantly to GRDP growth of 11.01%, ranking 3rd in the country, especially the only locality in the country to maintain double-digit growth for 10 consecutive years.
