According to the report, the Customs Branch of Region III has implemented many topics and control plans in the area, including controlling import and export goods according to processing and export production types; controlling mineral exports through Hai Phong Port; combating the trade of counterfeit goods, goods violating industrial property rights; preventing smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation of goods through Cat Bi International Airport.
The unit also implemented the peak month plan to attack and suppress smuggling crimes, transport counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods and goods of unknown origin. In 2024, the Department detected and handled 3,959 cases with a total value of infringing goods of up to VND 5,059 billion. In the first 6 months of 2025, the unit handled 2,070 cases with a total value of VND 1,551 billion.
At the meeting, the Customs Branch of Region III recommended that the city regularly open training courses, exchanges, and learning between relevant units to disseminate and update new methods and tricks as well as loopholes in legal policies that subjects are easily vulnerable to violations; how to identify and distinguish counterfeit goods and goods that infringe intellectual property rights...
After listening to the reports and opinions of the delegates, Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council Pham Quoc Ka highly appreciated the timely implementation of the Customs Branch of Region III's directives on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; developing many plans and plans for patrolling, controlling, verifying and preventing related incidents.
The Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council requested the Department to continue to raise vigilance, increase information collection and processing, focus on patrolling and controlling key areas and routes. Along with that, strengthen supervision of transit and transit activities, send outdoor warehouses for goods; enhance the sense of responsibility of civil servants in performing public duties.
The Department promotes information reception via hotline, closely coordinates with relevant units to exchange information on smuggling activities, transporting counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin across the border. In addition, resolutely fight, arrest and strictly handle violations according to legal regulations, ensure security, order, social safety, health and consumer rights.
