According to the company representative, in the first phase, Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to operate 8 flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City per day. Domestic routes such as Hanoi - Phu Quoc have a frequency of 5 trips, Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc 8 trips, Hanoi - Da Nang 3 trips a day.
From next year, the airline will open more international routes from Phu Quoc to Korea, China, Singapore... Currently, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has received 3 A321 aircraft and may add 4 more aircraft from now until the end of the year.
The airline plans to add 8 more ships to serve the expansion of the international flight network in 2026. From 2031, Sun Group's airline plans to operate 10 Boeing wide-body aircraft to operate transcontinental flights.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on May 20, 2025, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued Decision No. 979/QD-TTg, officially approving the investment policy, and at the same time approving the investor to implement the Sun PhuQuoc Airways airline project.
According to the decision, the investor implementing the project is Phu Quoc Sun Aviation Company Limited.
The project name is Sun PhuQuoc Airways Airlines - SPA.
According to the approved policy, the SPA will have a total fleet of 31 aircraft by 2030.
The total investment capital of the project is VND 2,500 billion (equivalent to about 98.81 million USD).
The goal of the project is to establish a new airline with a main business model of transporting passengers by commercial air, combined with exploiting a charter model to serve tourists to tourist and business centers in Vietnam and the world, typically famous tourist island cities and bustling commercial financial centers.
In particular, SPA was opened with the mission of bringing tourists from countries around the world to Phu Quoc pearl island.
Having an additional airline to the pearl island will create conditions for Vietnamese people to travel to Phu Quoc more easily and conveniently.
The Prime Minister officially approved the investment policy for Sun PhuQuoc Airways, which is an important milestone for the Vietnamese aviation industry and the development of Phu Quoc tourism.
Because together with other airlines in the market, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will contribute a new bridge, bringing Phu Quoc - the second most beautiful island in the world after Maldives - closer to domestic and international tourists.
