Besides traditional fresh flowers, wax flowers, fragrant candle flowers, the 8th occasion of March this year recorded the "rise" of Lego assembled flowers - a novel gift product, which can be displayed for a long time and is highly personalized.
Searching and ordering 1 month before the main holiday on online platforms, Mr. Tran Minh Duc (22 years old, Hanoi) realized the appeal of the trend of choosing 8/3 gifts this year.
Besides the main gift, Mr. Duc decided to order 5 Lego flowers and manually assemble them himself. "The flowers are fresh and beautiful but only last for a few days. Lego flowers can be displayed for a long time on the desk or bookshelf, seeing them makes me remember the giver. Although I have to take advantage of every time to assemble them, this is also a new experience for me" - Mr. Duc said with a smile.
According to him, the price ranges from 30,000-60,000 VND/unassembled flower to help me balance with the accompanying gift. "I choose a model with the color my girlfriend likes, wrap it myself and just ask the store to wrap it into a shape" - Mr. Duc shared.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Linh (25 years old, office worker) said that she ordered Lego flowers to give to colleagues. "I want to connect with people more as a way to express concern for the women around me. I consulted online stores and found the prices reasonable, Lego flowers are both durable and do not require care like real flowers. After the holiday, people can still keep them as decorations at the desk" - Ms. Linh said.

The element of durability, novelty and personalized color and number of flowers according to the budget is the reason why Lego flowers have become a prominent choice in the 8th gift season this year.
Ms. Dang Mai Huong - owner of a toy store said that she actively imported more lego flowers when she realized that this trend began to "explode" in recent months. However, the rapid increase in orders caused the store to have times when it could not keep up.
According to Ms. Huong, the demand for buying Lego flowers increased sharply before and during the Lunar New Year. "Right from the 2nd day of Tet, when the store reopened for sale, many customers kept asking, but sometimes there were no more goods to sell. On March 8th holiday, there have been about 70-80 orders so far, and orders will only arrive on March 6th. As a seller myself, I am also worried when orders are still on delivery" - Ms. Huong shared.
Unlike traditional items, Lego flowers are sold flexibly in bouquets or bundles, depending on the customer's budget. Each flower costs about 30,000-40,000 VND, about 30 cm high.
If customers buy 5 flowers to create a small bouquet and assemble it themselves, the cost is about 150,000 VND. In case of renting a store to assemble and complete the bouquet, the price may increase to 250,000-300,000 VND/bouquet due to additional assemblement labor and flower wrapping accessories" - Ms. Huong informed.

Besides business households benefiting from this emerging trend, flower assemblers also have a significant additional source of income and satisfy their hobby of making handicrafts.
The assembly cost is calculated based on the number of flowers, averaging about 10,000-12,000 VND/flower. People who assemble quickly and have experience will have a higher remuneration. However, this is only a seasonal job, taking advantage of free time to earn extra income" - Ms. Huong shared.
To meet the increased number of applications, Ms. Huong had to mobilize more relatives and some students near her house to support the assembly. According to her, one person can assemble about 30 flowers/day, earning about 400,000 VND/person/day. For students, just installing 7-8 flowers can earn more than 100,000 VND per day.
The appearance of Lego assembled flowers shows that the gift market 8. 3 is increasingly diverse, aiming for products that are sustainable, novel and creative.
