On the morning of December 19, at the Conference "Summary of tax work in 2024 and deployment of tax work tasks and solutions in 2025", the General Department of Taxation officially announced the "Electronic information portal for households and individuals doing business to register, declare, and pay e-commerce tax, and do business on digital platforms" (Information portal).
Attending and pressing the button to launch the Electronic Information Portal were Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang; Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan; leaders of the General Department of Taxation and representatives of ministries and branches.
The portal will support all business households and individuals doing e-commerce and digital platform business to register for tax, declare tax, and pay tax on revenue from e-commerce and digital platform business.
Including: Households and individuals doing business on e-commerce trading floors such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki...; households and individuals providing goods and services on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo...; households and individuals receiving income from advertising activities on advertising platforms such as Google, YouTube...; households and individuals providing software on application markets such as CH Play, Apple Store...; households and individuals with income from doing business on other platforms.
Regarding the benefits of the Portal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh - Director of the Department of Tax Management for Small and Medium Enterprises, Business Households and Individuals (General Department of Taxation) said that for taxpayers, the portal provides additional support for households and individuals doing e-commerce business and doing business on digital platforms with a channel for easy and convenient tax registration, declaration and payment.
For tax authorities, the Portal contributes to improving the effectiveness of tax management of tax authorities for e-commerce and digital platform business activities. Taxpayer declaration information is an important source of information in the large database on e-commerce; serving tax management based on risk, helping tax authorities identify acts of non-declaration, tax payment, and tax evasion; meeting the requirements of state management of e-commerce through the digital environment.
At the same time, the Portal supports tax authorities in easily collecting statistics and evaluating tax management results for e-commerce business activities; it is important information serving the direction and management work and building legal policies.
Ms. Lan Anh assessed that the Portal helps simplify administrative procedures for taxpayers, thereby contributing to saving costs and time in complying with the law for taxpayers according to the Government's orientation of putting people and businesses at the center of digital transformation.
The launch of the Electronic Information Portal contributes to promoting national digital transformation, towards digital government, digital economy and digital society through the application of modern information technology, connectivity, automation and information security in tax management.
Contributing to building a professional, modern, transparent and effective tax sector; at the same time, encouraging the development of the digital economy and e-commerce, providing a clear and easy-to-understand tax environment will create favorable conditions for business households and individuals to participate in the e-commerce and digital platforms more legally and effectively.
The electronic information portal for households and individuals doing business to register, declare and pay taxes from e-commerce and digital-based business has been upgraded from the Electronic Tax Portal for individuals (https://canhan.gdt.gov.vn) - ICanhan with functions on tax registration, tax declaration and tax payment designed to be simple, convenient and easy to use.
Official portal to support taxpayers in fulfilling tax obligations from December 19, 2024.
