Khanh Hoa tightens control against counterfeit and smuggled goods

Khanh Hoa - After the case of businesses using fake stamps to consume smuggled alcohol, functional agencies continue to strengthen inspection and tightening measures.

Regarding the case of Thu Ha Co., Ltd. importing fake stamps pasted on more than 10,000 bottles of alcohol of unknown origin to put on the market, functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province have been and are implementing many solutions to tighten market management and protect consumer rights.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa province, as of August 2025, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 has detected and handled 3,533 violations.

In which, there are 803 cases related to trading and transporting banned and smuggled goods; 2,626 cases of trade fraud, tax fraud and 74 cases related to counterfeit and poor quality goods. The total amount collected and remitted to the state budget from handling violations reached more than 604 billion VND.

In addition to administrative penalties, functional agencies have transferred criminal prosecution dossiers for 57 cases, involving 71 subjects, showing the seriousness and complexity of the violations in the area.

Mr. Tran Quoc Sanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa province said that to improve the effectiveness of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the unit will continue to strengthen coordination between functional forces; closely monitor the area, and firmly grasp market developments.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is promoting inspection, examination, patrol, and control to promptly detect and handle violations.

At the same time, strengthen propaganda, raise awareness and responsibility of businesses, organizations, and individuals in complying with legal regulations on production and business, ensuring the rights and health of consumers.

Assessing this work, Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights infringement is a key and long-term task that needs to be implemented regularly, continuously, and non-stop.

According to Mr. Hoang, the locality has launched the movement "each citizen is a soldier on the front of combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods", and at the same time called on people to become smart consumers, contributing to detecting and preventing violations.

Functional forces are required to maintain continuous inspection with a spirit of urgency, decisiveness, and timely detection and strict handling of violators according to the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions". At the same time, inspection must ensure that it does not affect the legal production and business activities of enterprises.

In addition, the process of performing official duties must comply with legal regulations, ensuring the principle of clear assignment according to the "6 clear" motto: clear people, clear tasks, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products, clear authority; strengthening coordination between relevant agencies and units.

The combination of inspection and propaganda, dissemination of laws is considered an important solution to raise awareness and prevent violations early and remotely.
