From the beginning of the year to March 13, 2025, the total import-export turnover through Mong Cai city reached 1.004 billion USD, an increase of 51% over the same period in 2024.
According to Mong Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch, the unit has completed procedures for 19,312 import-export declarations, an increase of 41% over the same period last year. Of which, export turnover reached 584.03 million USD, import turnover reached 420.1 million USD.
The total number of enterprises participating in import-export activities is 1,350, an increase of 338 enterprises over the same period, including 773 new enterprises.
Regarding budget revenue from import-export activities, as of March 13, 2025, total revenue reached VND 462.8 billion, equivalent to 18% of the assigned target (VND 2,510 billion).
To concretize the content of the 2025 Early Spring Meeting Program between the Secretaries of 5 provinces/regions and the 16th Conference of the Joint Working Committee between the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, promote friendly cooperation in all fields between the two localities in the coming time.
On March 11, 2025, Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee (Vietnam) Ho Quang Huy and Mayor of Dongxing City (China) Li Kien signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation mechanism for research on building smart border gates.
The two sides agreed to promote the construction of Mong Cai - Dong Hung International Border Gate according to the smart border gate model, and at the same time implement key transportation connection projects such as Mong Cai - Dong Hung international railway line, Bac Luan III bridge, auxiliary crude steel bridge and a number of other areas.
The extensive cooperation between Mong Cai and Dongxing not only promotes border trade growth but also opens up opportunities for sustainable development in many fields, towards a more modern and effective trade model.
