Near the Mid-Autumn Festival, many types of weapon-simulated toys such as plastic guns, grenade guns, swords, darts... are sold on streets in Hanoi with diverse designs, priced from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of dong.
Some products have packaging mainly in foreign languages, lacking information about the manufacturer and origin; sellers said that most of them are imported from China.
Notably, many types of guns are introduced for children from 5-8 years old, using styrofoam bullets, meteorite bullets or plastic bullets. Some other toys such as inflatable pellets are also sold for only 5,000-10,000 VND/pack, but sellers admit that there are products that should not be given to young children. This situation raises concerns about the quality, origin and safety of cheap toys.
