A survey of deposit interest rates of more than 30 banks shows that the deposit interest rate level still has a fairly clear differentiation between the group of state-owned banks and joint-stock commercial banks. For the 3-month term, the popular interest rate fluctuates in the range of 4-4.75%/year. Most private banks list levels from 4.5-4.75%/year, while the group of state-owned banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV and VietinBank only apply 2.4%/year, Agribank at 2.9%/year.
For the 6-month term, the general interest rate level has been significantly raised, commonly in the range of 5-6.5%/year. Some banks list higher than the general level, including Cake by VPBank with 7.2%/year, BAC A BANK 7.05%/year, MBV and VCBNeo both at 7%/year. In addition, many other banks such as PGBank, SaigonBank, Sacombank, BVBank, OCB and Nam A Bank also maintain interest rates from about 6.4-6.9%/year.
The most notable is the 12-month term, when many banks continue to maintain interest rates from 7%/year or higher. Leading the market is Cake by VPBank with 7.4%/year. Followed by SaigonBank with 7.2%/year and BAC A BANK at 7.1%/year. The group of banks listing at 7%/year include MBV, VCBNeo, PGBank, Sacombank and VIB.
