A series of banks continuously adjust interest rates
Eximbank is the bank that has reduced deposit interest rates the most in recent times, with 4 adjustments since February 18. The highest mobilization interest rate that was once up to 6.8%/year has now decreased to 5.7%/year for a term of 24-36 months. The interest rate of 6.4%/year (15-month term) and 6.7%/year (18-month term) were also reduced to 5.5% and 5.6%/year, respectively.
NCB has reduced interest rates twice since the beginning of January. Most recently, on March 5, this bank simultaneously adjusted down 0.1%/year for all terms. Previously, on January 2, NCB reduced 0.1%/year for terms from 12-60 months.
Kienlongbank also had two consecutive interest rate cuts in less than a week. On March 3, the bank continued to adjust the 13-36-month term down by 0.1-0.2 percentage points. Previously, on February 26, Kienlongbank reduced 0.2%/year for 1-5 month and 10-11 month term deposits; decreased 0.4%/year for 6-9 month and 12-24 month terms; and sharply decreased 0.6%/year for 36-month terms. The 60-month savings interest rate was also adjusted down to 0.7%/year.
Since the beginning of March, 12 banks have reduced their deposit interest rates, including: PGBank, Viet A Bank, Kienlongbank, Bac A Bank, Eximbank, IVB, LPBank, Nam A Bank, NCB, SHB, VCBNeo, VIB.
Highest special interest rate 7-9%
The highest interest rate for 12-month terms is up to 7-9%, but to enjoy this interest rate, customers must meet special conditions.
PVcomBank leads with a special interest rate of 9%/year for a term of 12-13 months when depositing money at the counter. The applicable condition is that customers must maintain a minimum balance of VND 2,000 billion.
HDBank applies an interest rate of 8.1%/year for a 13-month term and 7.7%/year for a 12-month term, with the condition of maintaining a minimum balance of VND500 billion. In addition, the 18-month term is subject to a 6% interest rate.
MSB listed an interest rate of 7%/year for a term of 12 and 13 months. The condition is that the minimum deposit is 500 billion VND from newly opened or automatically renewed savings books from January 1, 2018.
Dong A Bank applies an interest rate of 7.5%/year for term deposits of 13 months or more, with a minimum amount of 200 billion VND; Bac A Bank is listing the highest interest rate of 6% for a term of 18-36 months for deposits over 1 billion VND; IVB applies an interest rate of 6.15% for a term of 36 months, with conditions applied to deposits of 1,500 billion VND or more.
Banks with interest rates exceeding 6%
Currently, interest rates above 6%/year are being listed by many banks for long-term deposits but do not require a minimum deposit amount.
BVBank applies an interest rate of 6% for an 18-month term, 6.05% for a 24-month term; Cake by VPBank applies an interest rate of 6%/year for a 12-18 month term and 6.3%/year for a 24-36 month term.
VRB and Dong A Bank apply an interest rate of 6% for a 24-month term; VietABank applies an interest rate of 6% for a 18- and 24-month term at 6%/year, 6.1% for a 36-month term; HDBank applies an interest rate of 6% for a 15-month term and 6.1% for a 18-month term; BAOVIET Bank applies an interest rate of 6% for a 15, 18, 24 and 36-month term; ABBank applies an interest rate of 6% for a 12-month term.
