Implementation of the plan for market monitoring and control, ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival on the Ba Đình District (Hanoi) territory. On two days, August 6 and 7, the Interagency Inspection Team of the Ba Đình District 389 Steering Committee, led by Team QLTT No. 3 (Hanoi Market Management Department), conducted consecutive inspections of 2 business establishments on the district's territory, discovering hundreds of products of baked goods and candies with signs of smuggled goods.
Accordingly, on August 7, the interagency inspection team conducted an inspection of the Retail Store, located at No. 4 Dang Dung, Truc Bach (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, the inspection team discovered that the business establishment was selling 400 baked goods, 50 grams each, produced abroad, without invoices or documents proving their origin, and unclear quality.
Earlier, on August 6, the interagency inspection team conducted an inspection of the Retail Store, located at No. 115, Tan Ap, Phuc Xa (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, the inspection team discovered that the business establishment was selling 321 products of various baked goods and candies (including 175 baked goods of various types). All of these goods were produced abroad, without invoices or documents proving their origin, and unclear quality.
The goods with signs of violation in both cases were temporarily seized by the inspection team for handling in accordance with regulations.
According to the plan of the Hanoi People's Committee, from August 5 to September 20, 2024, relevant departments and the People's Committees at all levels will strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness and practice among producers, business owners, and consumers of food products during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
For food production and business establishments, propaganda will focus on implementing strictly the regulations on food safety conditions, equipment, knowledge, and practice of personnel directly involved in food production; regulations on the origin of food raw materials, regulations on the use of food additives, packaging materials, labeling of products, registration of product declarations, and storage of food products; food safety conditions at the point of sale, import of food products, product declaration, and absolute prohibition of selling expired or moldy baked goods that do not ensure food safety.
In addition, propaganda will focus on the rights and obligations of consumers in using food products; guidance on selecting, processing, storing, and using food products safely; prohibition of using food additives outside the approved list, using them incorrectly, or in excess of the prescribed quantity.
Notably, during this period, departments and agencies will organize inspection teams to conduct inspections at food production, processing, and business establishments, as well as importers of food products commonly used during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
