At Luong Nhu Hoc lantern street, Hai Thuong Lan Ong street... in the early days of September, paper Mid-Autumn lanterns, plastic lanterns, trayed lanterns, star lanterns... are sold with many sizes and prices. Designs are also adjusted according to consumer tastes, from traditional images to familiar characters and animals.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duc - a small trader at Luong Nhu Hoc lantern street said that this year the amount of Vietnamese lanterns imported accounts for the majority of Mid-Autumn Festival goods. "The lantern designs are still diverse, with prices ranging from 20,000-150,000 VND/model. This year, paper lion lanterns and small star lanterns are chosen by many customers" - Mr. Duc said.
According to Mr. Duc, purchasing power has not increased sharply from the beginning of the season but is starting to become busier as the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches. Products priced at tens of thousands of VND are chosen by customers a lot, while elaborate and high-priced models have slower sales speeds.

At a lantern shop on Nguyen Trai street (An Dong ward), Ms. Cao Tuyet Lan said that in the past, her family often bought battery-powered lanterns that played music because children liked many features. However, this year she prioritized simple designs with traditional designs.
Star lanterns or paper lanterns, although not too elaborate, bring a clearer Mid-Autumn atmosphere. The price is also reasonable, after children play, they can keep them for decoration. This year, I see that Vietnamese lanterns have many beautiful designs, eye-catching colors, and the way they are made is also more meticulous than before, so there are many choices" - Ms. Tuyet Lan shared.

Not only appearing in markets, Vietnamese lanterns are also introduced into bookstores, toy stores and supermarkets. The diversity in designs, selling prices and designs helps domestic products reach more customer groups.
A noteworthy point is that the market is changing in the choice of buyers. If previously eye-catching and many functions could determine the purchase, now parents are more interested in the origin, safety and durability of products.
