Surveys show that the road section about 200m long through the top of the pass is peeling, degraded, and hundreds of potholes and craters have appeared.

Some seriously damaged locations form holes about 0.2 - 0.3m deep.

Due to the large volume of traffic, plus prolonged rainy weather, the road surface in this area continues to degrade.

Currently, it is raining, so hot asphalt cannot be used to fix damage. In the coming time, when the weather is favorable, the unit will use hot asphalt to repair and reinforce the damaged road section, ensuring safety for vehicle drivers passing by," Mr. Than said.

886 Thanh Nam Construction Investment Company is currently undertaking the maintenance of National Highway 20 through Lam Dong province, including Bao Loc Pass.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected the situation that the road surface in the top of Bao Loc pass area appeared densely potholes and craters after a long period of heavy rain, causing difficulties and potential dangers for traffic participants.

Bao Loc Pass is about 10km long, located on National Highway 20, is a vital traffic route connecting Lam Dong with Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. The road has a large traffic volume, especially trucks and passenger cars.

In addition to the peak area of the pass, many peeling and damaged locations also appear on the entire route. Some sections are being repaired and overcome by Construction Joint Stock Company 676.

Temporary patching helps improve the road surface condition in the peak area of the pass, however, to ensure long-term safety, damaged locations need to be repaired and reinforced with appropriate solutions when the weather is favorable.
