Binh Duong is one of the major industrial production centers of the country with about 30 industrial parks and 10 industrial clusters in operation.

Binh Duong also has thousands of factories interspersed in residential areas. This requires the logistics and transport infrastructure industry to develop excellently to meet the needs of the industry.

According to records, freight transport services mainly focus on the road system, accounting for 95% of the total freight transport volume.

Multimedia transportation, combining road with waterway and rail is still lacking. This leads to the road transport system being under great pressure. Currently, inter-provincial roads such as National Highway 13, DT 743, My Phuoc Tan Van, Huynh Van Cu... are more congested and congested.

As a result, freight vehicles take a long time to move on the road. Previously, the travel time from the factory to the ports and logistics centers was only about 1.5-2 hours. But now, travel time can double. This causes businesses to increase transportation costs, which account for the highest proportion of total logistics costs.

Binh Duong needs to make a breakthrough in infrastructure

The longer the congestion and traffic jams, the more it affects the logistics industry in Binh Duong. Binh Duong must quickly complete the road transport infrastructure and develop more railways and waterways to diversify forms of freight transport.

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has just approved the development of logistics services in Binh Duong province with a vision to 2050. In particular, the province calculates the development of logistics infrastructure in sync with industrial - urban - commercial infrastructure, and transport infrastructure.

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh, the province assigned the provincial Department of Transport to coordinate with investors in the construction of transport infrastructure, put into operation a synchronous transport network, and support the development of logistics services.

In the immediate future, Binh Duong province will speed up the progress of upgrading and expanding the inter-provincial connecting route and quickly invest in completing regional connecting projects such as Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4. Research on expanding Song Than Station, improving the capacity of railway freight transport.

Binh Duong province will also develop a system of ports on the Dong Nai, Saigon and Thi Tinh rivers. Dredging rivers to be able to transport goods by container on the river.

Building 11 inland waterway ports

Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that according to the plan, the province will develop 11 inland waterway ports on the Saigon and Dong Nai rivers. Binh Duong province will plan nearly 245 hectares to develop ports along two major rivers. It is expected that goods transported by river will reduce the load on the roads under great pressure.

Establishing 2 free trade zones

According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, in the period of 2046-2050, the province will establish 2 regional free trade zones in Di An city, Bau Bang district.
