Tax sector listens to practical opinions

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

The tax sector will listen, not evade, to answer the difficulties of business households in implementing tax regulations and policies.

On the afternoon of April 17, the Workshop "Business households: Transparency of cash flow, expanding business opportunities" took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department Headquarters, with the participation of nearly 400 business households, small traders in the city, along with representatives of management agencies, experts in the fields of tax, technology, and finance.

The program is organized by the Tax Department (Ministry of Finance), Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department and Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mai Son, Deputy Director of the Tax Department - Ministry of Finance, said that in the past time, implementing the major policy of the Party, National Assembly, Government and Ministry of Finance on innovating tax management methods for business households, immediately after Decree No. 68 and Circular No. 18 were issued, the Tax Department directed tax authorities at all levels to continue to organize many programs to guide, answer, and support business households in registering, declaring, paying taxes, recording books and using electronic invoices.

Along with organizing direct support at the grassroots level, the Tax sector also promotes communication and guidance in the digital environment. From the end of March 2026, the Tax Department has implemented livestreaming of a series of online broadcasting programs on the tax sector's platforms in the direction of "holding hands and guiding", with content designed according to each target group, each revenue level, each business model; from tax policies, electronic invoices, bookkeeping, tax declaration, tax payment to situations arising in reality.

We are very clear that, in such a large transitional period as today, there will certainly be concerns and unresolved real-life situations; even, there are issues that need to be further reviewed and improved in the process of organization and implementation. Therefore, the Tax sector does not avoid opinions from practice.

Conversely, we really hope to be fully, directly and frankly listened to by business households so that tax authorities can immediately resolve contents under their authority, and at the same time absorb valid proposals and recommendations to continue researching, reporting to competent authorities, completing and amending mechanisms, policies and tax management work in a direction that is increasingly transparent, more specific, and more practical," Mr. Mai Son said.

The highlight of the workshop was a direct dialogue session between business households and representatives of management agencies, along with tax experts. Here, all bottlenecks in tax declaration were removed, especially "hot" issues such as: how to declare taxes when selling online?, what costs will be deducted when calculating taxes?, how to correct incorrect invoices when issuing invoices?... were answered by representatives of the Tax authority, helping people relieve their psychological concerns in the early stages of applying the new regulations.
