"Even though I bought gold and provided CCCD, I felt uncomfortable and worried about my personal information being exposed" - Ms. Lan Anh shared.
On August 2, Lao Dong's records showed that most gold and silver stores in Ho Chi Minh City require customers to provide ID cards to issue invoices when buying and selling gold. However, many people still react to this regulation.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Duy, owner of a gold shop at Hoa Binh market (District 5), said that the store has applied electronic invoices to customers. To make it easier for customers to understand the information, he placed a sign asking customers to bring their ID cards when coming to buy and sell gold right in front of the store.
"Many customers refused to provide information, take CCCD photos to issue electronic invoices, and even went away to buy gold elsewhere. We are businessmen and must comply with regulations to declare to the tax authorities" - Mr. Duy said.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee established a Working Group to ensure gold market security to collect and analyze information, data, and situations about customers buying and selling gold bars.
