6 months ago, when investigating the fake milk production ring, Hanoi City Police coordinated with professional units to discover and destroy a ring producing 573 types of fake starch, targeting the elderly, people with diabetes, kidney failure, pregnant women and children.
Through the appraisal results, many milk samples had ingredients that were not as advertised, containing additives of unknown origin, some main substances only reached below 70% of the advertised level, and were identified as counterfeit (According to the provisions of Point b, Clause 7, Article 3, Decree 98/2020/ND-CP).
According to a reporter's survey at a number of dairy businesses in Hanoi, after the process of investigating, managing, tightening quality, product announcement and advertising processes, fake milk products of Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company are no longer on the market.
Supermarkets and milk stores in Hanoi are currently always carefully inventorying and reviewing the origin, ingredients and quality of milk before importing and selling it on the market.

At a milk supermarket in Cau Giay (the above facility belongs to the supermarket system of children's supplies), the representative of the supermarket staff said: "Our products are all imported from the genuine, through manufacturers such as Nutricia, Nestle, Abbott or Nutifood. Before that, the manufacturer always checks the origin and quality carefully with us. We always have a full commitment to ensure products meet quality standards.
Not only in the above supermarket system, many retail milk stores also carefully check and review the origin and quality of milk. At a milk supermarket located in the Royal City Shopping Center, an employee here affirmed: "Our milk has both domestic and imported goods and all are genuine goods. Our product lines have been sold out for nearly 10 years and are trusted by local people."

Consumers are vigilant
On the consumer side, after a series of cases of fake milk being unloaded, many people still cannot help but worry.
Ms. Le Phuong (32 years old, Xuan Dinh ward, Hanoi) said that after the mass case of fake milk being unloaded, she completely did not trust the advertisements of KOLs and KOCs on social networks because she was not sure they were people with knowledge and expertise in nutrition.
To buy milk for my child, I often learn from people who have come before me, have a lot of experience in taking care of childrens health or the advice of doctors and nutritionists - she affirmed.
"The authorities need to continue to implement policies to carefully manage and control the milk market before selling, ensuring benefits for consumers. Thanks to those policies, businesses and milk businesses no longer dare to advertise fake ingredients or product quality," Ms. Phuong shared.
Ms. Quynh Trang (36 years old, Quang Ninh) also has the same opinion. For her, tightening the quality and advertising of milk products plays a particularly important role and must be implemented.
"From import and production establishments to product distribution agencies, all stages must be closely supervised and managed. When authorities discover more fake milk sources, they need to quickly inform people, carry out destruction and have strong deterrence measures, so that manufacturers no longer dare to cheat in the production process and announce the ingredients," Ms. Trang emphasized.
