More than 40 workers are owed wages

Reporting to Lao Dong Newspaper, many workers in Quang Trung Ward (Thanh Hoa Province) expressed their frustration at Duc Thien Investment and Production Consulting Co., Ltd. (headquartered on Co Bi Street, Gia Lam Commune, Hanoi City, with a branch in Residential Group 4 Bac Son, Quang Trung Ward, Thanh Hoa Province) not yet paid September salary to more than 40 workers (currently quitting this company).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang (residing in residential group 4 Bac Son, Quang Trung ward) - representative of the group of workers - said that the workers started working at the company branch from July 21, 2025. By August 15, 2025, the company will pay full and on time for the 9 working days of July.

However, by the salary payment period on September 15, 2025 for August, the company was late in paying without notifying. Only when the workers reported, did the company make the payment.

Then, in the September salary payment period, the company continued to be late in paying. The worker repeatedly texted and called the company director, Ms. Vu Kim Yen, but did not receive any response.

On October 1, the company director went to the workshop to announce a change in production location ( away from the current workplace). When hearing the news, all the workers were surprised and did not agree because they had to travel far. At that time, Ms. Yen said that anyone who did not go to the new facility should write a resignation letter and the company will still pay the normal salary on October 15, 2025" - Ms. Hang said.

According to Ms. Hang, after this announcement, on October 2, the workers submitted a resignation letter (through Zalo group) but the company did not respond.

On October 5, when workers were working to complete the order, the company director came and asked them to unload the goods. The workers did not agree because their wages had not been paid. After that, the company invited the authorities to work. Under the witness of the ward police and residential groups, the two sides made a record of the agreement, committing to fully pay the workers' salaries before 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2025.

"The minutes clearly stated that the company representative committed to pay the salary on October 15, but so far the company has not done so. As of October 24, we have not received the money. The total amount of money the company owes is more than 409 million VND" - Ms. Hang said.

Ms. Dang Thi Hue - a worker at the company (residing in Bac Son area 6, Quang Trung ward - also said that the company did not fulfill its commitment on the salary payment deadline. On October 21, the company also sent a document stating that the workers "arbitrarily quit their jobs, and did not receive the approval of the Board of Directors".

Previously, on October 2, we submitted a resignation letter and the company also agreed to pay on October 15. However, on October 21, the company sent a document saying that we had quit our jobs on our own, which surprised everyone, Ms. Hue said indignantly.

On October 29, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper called Ms. Vu Kim Yen - Director of the Company - to book a work schedule.

However, Ms. Yen said that in the next 5-10 days, she will have a busy schedule and travel to many places because of her urgent work, so if the reporter wants to meet in person, it must be after this time.

When asked by the reporter, did you admit that the company owes workers more than 400 million VND in wages? And in your opinion, is the reason for paying wages due to employees violating regulations on termination of labor contracts? Ms. Yen did not answer directly to the question but continued to explain.

Ms. Yen is scheduled to meet reporters directly on November 12, in Hanoi or Thanh Hoa to "clear up the matter", so that reporters "can clearly understand the thoughts of workers and the thoughts of businesses". Que Chi
