Thai Nguyen - A series of kiosks and stores in crowded markets in Thai Nguyen are closing before the peak period of anti-smuggling, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud.

Located in Quang Trung ward (Thai Nguyen city), Su Pham market is already crowded because it is located near universities. The main business items here are fashion, cosmetics, and household appliances. This place is considered a "cadoise" for students when prices are cheap and there are many types of goods.

In contrast to the bustling scene of buyers and sellers every day, in the past, the market suddenly quieted. A series of shops and kiosks are closed and covered with tarpaulins.

According to the reporter, on June 3 and 4, Su Pham market was unusually quiet. The already bustling kiosks have now closed, with only a few fruit and snack shops. Some kiosks even cleared goods and packed boxes to move them elsewhere. Many customers came to the market surprised and had to return.

A person living near the market said that the above situation started to occur from the afternoon of June 2.

"This market has been around for decades, and is bustling from morning to night. This area is close to students so it is easy to do business. Now the traders are covered with tarpaulins and have closed their doors to stop doing business. The reason also comes from checking the origin of goods, counterfeit goods or changing tax policies.

They said they would close for a few days to get through this peak period and then almost reopen. The goods here are from all over the country, cheap for students, so what makes the origin clear," said this person.

A similar situation also occurred at Samsung E-commerce Market (Pho Yen City). During rush hour on June 4, the market was deserted with most stores closed. Some fruit stalls and snacking also had to move their stalls early when the market was deserted.

According to the reporter's observation, most of the kiosks for shoes, clothes, jewelry, and cosmetics were covered with tarpaulins. The unusually quiet scene contrasts with the usual bustle. This market is already bustling when it is near industrial parks and crowded with workers. The items are affordable and suitable for workers' budgets.

Selling N.T.TH (Samsung E-commerce Market) said: "Seeing that there was an inspection, I closed for a few days to feel secure. People are also worried, in addition to checking the origin, there are new tax policies".
