On September 9, Bac Ha Energy JSC bought back a portion of the bond code BHBCH2124004 with a buyback value of 60 billion VND. This bond lot has a total mobilized value of 300 billion VND, a term of 3 years, maturing on November 26. After this buyback, the remaining value of the bond lot is 120 billion VND. This is Bac Ha's third buyback this year.
Previously, in July and August, the company had 2 early bond buybacks. In total, the total value of all 3 early bond buybacks by the company was 180 billion VND.
At Nam Phuong Energy Investment JSC, on September 4, the company bought back VND285.3 million of NPECH2128002 bonds. This bond has a term of 52 months, maturing in March 2026, with a total issuance value of VND900 billion.
This is the fifth time Nam Phuong Energy has bought back this bond lot this year. Although the company has continuously bought back bonds before maturity, the value of each buyback is low compared to the total value of the bond lot. After 5 buybacks, the total remaining value of this bond lot is VND858.7 billion.
Also this year, Nam Phuong Energy also had 6 early buybacks of bond code NPECH2229001. The bond lot has a term of 7 years, total issuance value of 450 billion VND, maturing in March 2029. The remaining bond value after 6 buybacks is 428.3 billion VND.
Similarly, Hoang Son Energy Investment JSC has just announced the repurchase of 1.2 billion VND of bonds coded HSC.H.20.23.001. This is a bond lot issued in 2020, maturing in March 2025, with a total issuance value of 500 billion VND. This is the third time Hoang Son Energy has repurchased bonds this year. After the repurchase, the remaining value of the bond lot is 456.5 billion VND.
Not only in the energy group, early bond buyback and debt restructuring activities continuously take place at issuing organizations in many industry groups.
In general, in the corporate bond market, the activity of buying back bonds before maturity has decreased sharply. Updated data from the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA) recently showed that since the beginning of the year, issuing enterprises have bought back a total of 115 trillion VND of bonds before maturity, down 32% compared to the same period last year.
In particular, credit institutions, typically commercial banks, are the main players in the early bond repurchase activity with the total value of the entire industry recorded at over VND85 trillion, accounting for nearly 74% of the total repurchase value of the entire market. The remainder belongs to the Real Estate group (12.3%) and Manufacturing (6.7%).
