With more than 10 years of experience in growing melons, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (Nam Hung commune) said that this year's crop, people mainly grow melons and pears. Of which, melon is the most difficult type of melon to grow and care for because it depends a lot on weather factors. The time to plant and harvest melons is from 90 - 120 days.


"The process of planting melon, we have to pay attention to the water factor and pest control. According to melon growers here, melons are grown with little chemical fertilizer, growers mainly use floor manure and probiotics, so they ensure the safety and quality of delicious melons. Thanks to its delicious quality and beautiful designs, melons in Nam Hung are very popular.
Mr. Bui Duy Nam - Director of Nam Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative said: "The total area of melon planting in the commune is about 30ha, this year the output has decreased compared to previous years, estimated to reach 1 ton/sao. Currently, the price of melon is sold in the field from 7,000 to 12,000 VND/kg, depending on the time the price will change."
