Gia Lai agricultural products reach out to the world market
According to statistics from the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in 2025, the province's export turnover reached about 3.44 billion USD, an increase of 14.7% compared to 2024.
In which, agricultural exports account for a large proportion with many key commodities such as coffee, bananas, passion fruit, cassava, rice... continuing to affirm the foundational role of agriculture in local economic development.
Currently, Gia Lai agricultural products are present in nearly 60 countries and territories, including many markets that require high quality and technical standards such as the European Union (EU), the United States, and Japan.
In 2025, the coffee industry continues to play a leading role with export turnover reaching about 1.5 billion USD. In addition, Gia Lai is currently leading the Central Highlands region in terms of passion fruit growing area, with about 5,650ha, with an estimated output of more than 210,000 tons per year.
In the province, many large enterprises have deeply participated in the field of processing and exporting agricultural products such as Nafoods Tay Nguyen JSC, Dong Giao Export Food JSC (DOVECO), Quicornac Gia Lai Co., Ltd., contributing to improving value and expanding consumption markets.
Agriculture is still small-scale, not fully exploiting its potential
Although agricultural exports bring in billions of USD in revenue, according to assessments, this value is still not commensurate with the potential of the land and climate, especially the western region of Gia Lai.

Currently, people's agricultural production is still mainly on a small scale, fragmented; value chain linkage is not sustainable, causing the added value of products to be limited.
Meanwhile, the costs people invest in land, fertilizers, and labor to take care of large and arduous gardens, but the profits from agricultural products are not high.
Leading to the paradox that people directly producing, sweating to create coffee beans have low profits, but traders collect goods, purchase, and export and processing enterprises enjoy more attractive profits.
Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested localities to strongly shift from administrative management thinking to constructive administration, taking people and businesses as the center of service; and at the same time be more proactive in attracting investment.
Accordingly, the head of the locality must be truly dedicated, close to the people, stick to the grassroots, have a vision and aspiration for development.
In the agricultural sector, the focus is on developing towards applying high technology, standardizing raw material areas, building a close linkage chain between businesses - people - authorities to improve product value and ensure harmonious benefits for all parties.
Barren and inefficient land areas will be studied for planning to develop industrial and energy clusters, while potentially rich land areas will be oriented to link production according to large-scale export standards.
The goal is not only to increase the export value of agricultural products, but also to help people truly benefit from growth, gradually increase income and develop Gia Lai's agricultural sector sustainably.
