Until the evening of May 9, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 7 under the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police continued to spray water at the straw storage warehouse fire that occurred in Song Khieng village, Song Luy commune.
The fire occurred in the afternoon of the same day at a warehouse containing a lot of dry straw surrounded by iron sheets. When they discovered fire and smoke rising, people around shouted for help and reported to the functional forces.
Because there was a large amount of dry straw inside, the fire quickly spread. Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Team of Region 7 mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers and many specialized vehicles to the scene to organize firefighting.
However, firefighting work encountered many difficulties because straw was densely piled up in the warehouse. Functional forces had to use excavators to break the corrugated iron walls outside. At the same time, they raked each roll of straw to spray water to put out the fire.
After many hours of firefighting, by the evening of the same day, the fire was basically under control, but the fire fighting force continued to spray water to cool down, preventing the fire from rekindling.
