According to the financial report, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex - stock code PLX) achieved positive business results with consolidated profit estimated at over 2,800 billion VND. Notably, about 65% of the Group's profit comes from non-petroleum business and international business activities, showing the effectiveness of the strategy of diversifying revenue sources.
The petrochemical sector continues to be one of the important growth drivers of Petrolimex. Petrolimex Petrochemical Corporation (PLC) recorded a profit of nearly 240 billion VND, 3 times higher than the same period last year. PLC continues to maintain its leading position in the market for lubricant, asphalt and specialized chemicals, benefiting from the needs of infrastructure investment, industrial development and transportation.
Besides PLC, Castrol BP Petco Joint Venture Co., Ltd. with a lubricant brand from the UK also maintains stable business operations, contributing to Petrolimex's overall profit of more than 200 billion VND, thereby consolidating Petrolimex's position in the lubricant market.
International business activities also maintain positive growth momentum. Petrolimex Singapore promotes its role as an international trading hub, optimizing gasoline and oil import and business activities in the context of a volatile energy market.
At the same time, Petrolimex Laos continues to have growth in output and stability in business efficiency due to optimal exploitation of the distribution network and consumption demand in the local market.
The two units not only contributed nearly 400 billion VND to the general profit but also helped Petrolimex improve its international trading capacity, reduce dependence on the domestic market and expand its presence in the region.
The LPG sector through the operations of Petrolimex Gas Corporation continues to maintain good growth momentum thanks to optimizing supply and the advantages of the distribution system invested in expansion in potential markets over the past 2 years has recorded positive business results, contributing more than 120 billion VND to the Group's non-gasoline profit, an increase of 1.6 times compared to the same period.
The aviation fuel segment also achieved high efficiency, bringing Petrolimex a profit of more than 350 billion VND thanks to the recovery of the aviation and tourism industries. The operation of supplying fuel to domestic and international airlines helps Petrolimex Aviation Fuel Joint Stock Company expand its value chain, increasing business efficiency outside the traditional retail gasoline and oil sector.
In addition to core business areas, Petrolimex also owns an ecosystem: transportation, warehouses, services and synchronous distribution infrastructure, creating stable revenue and increasing resilience to energy market fluctuations.
With a logistics network, warehouse and port system, specialized means of transport including more than 40 ships and nearly 1,000 tanker trucks and nearly 3,000 gas stations nationwide, it not only helps optimize the supply chain but is also a platform for developing value-added products and services such as lubricant, gas, insurance, digital payment, electric vehicle charging and new energy solutions.
Constantly expanding the value chain is helping Petrolimex improve the efficiency of asset exploitation, diversify revenue sources and create a foundation for sustainable growth, even in the context that the gasoline and oil market is still volatile.
