In the last days of July 2025, storm No. 3 (storm Wipha) made landfall in the North Central provinces, causing many damages, of which Nghe An was one of the most severely affected localities: 4 deaths, nearly 7,500 houses collapsed or were severely damaged, 3 suspension bridges were swept away, many areas were completely cut off and isolated, thousands of hectares of crops, aquaculture ponds/resort of people were flooded and lost. The total damage is up to more than VND 3,700 billion, of which damage to houses is more than VND 1,500 billion, damage to traffic infrastructure is VND 1,390 billion.
With the desire to share difficulties and add resources to help people soon stabilize their lives, on August 9, 2025, PVcomBank donated 1 billion VND from the social security budget to support people in Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
This fund was transferred directly to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province through the account of the Provincial Relief Committee, with priority given to households that suffered the most damage.
In response to PVcomBank's noble gesture, the representative of Nghe An province's leadership expressed his gratitude and sent sincere thanks to PVcomBank and highly appreciated the Bank's role in proactively accompanying localities in social security work.
Ms. Vu Thi Nga Hang - Director of PVcomBank Operations, representative of the Bank participating in the sponsorship ceremony - shared: "We believe that the Bank's value lies not only in business numbers, but also in solidarity and sharing with the community, promoting the tradition of mutual love and spreading the spirit of social responsibility. With this support amount, we hope to contribute to joining hands to help and accompany the government and people of Nghe An province to soon stabilize their lives and restore production".
