Traders fear inspection
On May 29, the Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province reported on the business performance in Tho Tang town.
The report stated that during the two days from May 27 to 28, the media reported that traders in Tho Tang town simultaneously closed.

Directly speaking with traders and with leaders of Tho Tang town, Vinh Tuong district, the working group of the Vinh Phuc Province Market Management Department learned that the reason for the closure of "not-doing business of traders started from unofficial information is that there will be an interdisciplinary inspection team to conduct a general inspection of invoices and the origin of goods, if they cannot present, they will be subject to tax collection and all types of goods will be temporarily detained".
Traders here were afraid of being inspected, so they informed each other to close their stores simultaneously.

In that situation, the working group of the Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province and the People's Committee of Tho Tang town have disseminated to businesses here about implementing a peak period to fight against and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the province...
After being informed and disseminated the law, traders have clearly understood and agreed with the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province, and the People's Committee of Vinh Tuong district. By 9:30 a.m. on May 29, traders had simultaneously reopened stores and resumed normal business operations.
The capital is bustling with trading again
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on the afternoon of May 29, many stores in Tho Tang town have opened, the signs of the stores have been re-located, and the boxed cars have come to import goods to "report" to distribute here... Business and trading activities have continued.

Image of the crowded, bustling main road of Tho Tang town has begun to return, coaches are parked next to stores, people loading goods to start their work...

Mr. Tuan - a trader from Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province - shared: "From the introduction of friends, I have found goods I need to import here, if Tho Tang does not have them, I will have to find them in Hanoi, spending more transportation costs while the price is not much cheaper. Fortunately, Tho Tang market reopened early, if it had been extended, I would have had to go to Hanoi to find it."

According to the reporter's investigation, on May 23, Vinh Tuong District People's Committee issued plan No. 1603, launching a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the area.
