Scene of a major fire in the wholesale capital of Vinh Phuc

Vinh Phuc provincial authorities are blocking off the area to clarify the cause of the fire at night in Tho Tang town, Vinh Tuong district.

The scene of the fire was 5 adjacent houses, divided into 2 main areas in Bac Cuong residential group, Tho Tang town. In front is a solid area of shops and houses. Connecting to the back is the warehouses built with corrugated iron roofs and steel frames.

In the warehouse area, many goods were almost completely burned down. In particular, the location of the fire was only about 50m from the gas station in the area.

Ms. Vu Thi Cham (one of the households that suffered heavy damage after the fire) said - The family's furniture warehouse was almost completely burned down.

According to Ms. Cham, the fire started from a plastic and nylon warehouse 1 house away from her warehouse. However, the neighbor's family had no one at home.

At 9:00 p.m. on February 28, when the fire was discovered starting from a plastic and nylon warehouse away from the warehouse (a few minutes from the interior warehouse of a family of one), Ms. Cham and the surrounding residents used beng soap and a truck to break the fire door.

Although everyone tried to rescue the fire, the fire broke out too big to control and spread to the warehouses next door.

"We had to helplessly watch the goods being destroyed by the fire," Ms. Cham said sadly.

According to the leader of Tho Tang Town People's Committee, the fire started from a house in Bac Cuong residential group and then spread to 5 other houses. This is mainly corrugated iron roofed houses, containing office furniture and metal goods of business households in the area.

Upon receiving the fire alarm, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department immediately dispatched 17 fire trucks, 2 cranes, 4 fire pumps and specialized vehicles and equipment along with about 100 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize rescue and fire fighting.

At around 10:30 p.m. on February 28, the fire was basically under control. By 0:20 on March 1, the fire was completely extinguished.

Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties.

Tho Tang is considered the long-standing wholesale capital of Vinh Phuc. The town has about 2,000 individual business households, more than 250 medium and small enterprises and cooperatives operating with a variety of production and business types, creating many jobs for workers.
