On August 22, Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that during the peak summer period of 2025 (from May 22 to August 17), the airport operated 60,144 flights, an average of 699 flights per day, an increase of 5.94% over the same period in 2024. The total number of passengers arriving and departing reached 10,232,369, an average of 118,891 passengers/day, an increase of 4.48% over the previous year. Of which, international visitors increased by 7.73% and domestic visitors increased by 2.39%.
On the occasion of National Day on September 2 this year (from August 30 to September 2, 2025), the output of exploitation in Tan Son Nhat is forecast to continue to increase. On average, there are about 730 flights per day, including 430 domestic flights and 300 international flights, an increase of about 6% compared to the current flight schedule of 690 flights/day. The average number of visitors is expected to reach 125,000/day, including 75,000 domestic visitors and 50,000 international visitors. The two peak days are August 30 (peak domestic arrival) and September 2 (peak domestic arrival), with about 750 flights expected with 130,000 visitors.
To meet the increased travel demand, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has coordinated with airlines to complete the conversion of domestic operations to Terminal T3. The airlines that have converted include Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines, while VietJet Air continues to operate domestic flights at Terminal T1.
