Shopee celebrates its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, Shopee launched for the first time the impact report "Shopee: 10-year journey accompanying sellers" and the documentary series "Shopee: Preserving Cultural Colors" throughout the region.
Empowering local businesses in the digital economy
Over the past decade, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) have continuously developed on the Shopee platform, achieving a total sales of more than 270 billion USD - demonstrating the strong transformative role of e-commerce in promoting business growth and creating new economic opportunities.
Every year, more and more sellers choose to participate in Shopee, as shown by the number of MSME businesses doubling by an average of every year. Of which, up to 80% of sellers in local areas outside of big cities have taken advantage of the Shopee platform to reach new buyers in the domestic market and expand business opportunities to the region.
Support MSME to reach consumers and develop e-commerce business
Since its launch, the number of orders via Shopee Live of MSME sellers has increased by an average of more than 300% per year, helping them increase user engagement and strongly boost sales.
For sellers without marketing experience or specialized resources, Shopee Linked Marketment Solutions (AMS) helps businesses increase the number of orders by 30%, showing that simple but suitable marketing tools can still create significant growth results.
For sellers ready to reach the international market, Shopee's Online Export Program (SEP) helps simplify the export journey by supporting businesses to easily post products for sale in many countries in the region. From 2018 to present, more than 2.1 million MSME sellers have participated in the program for export.
Connecting consumers and communities across the region
Currently, users in more than 400 cities regularly shop on the platform; and more than 140 billion products have been delivered to users in the suburbs. More than 97% of Shopee's staff are local human resources, while more than 23 million affiliate and content creators participate in Shopee's Linked Marketing Program (SAP) to expand their income sources.
To date, income through the affiliate program has increased by an average of more than 90% per year, showing that e-commerce not only brings shopping convenience but also opens up opportunities for sustainable livelihood development for the community.
Launching the documentary series "Shopee: Preserving the text of Van Hoa"
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment, Shopee officially introduced the documentary series "Shopee: Preserving the Golden age of Van Hoa" to honor local sellers in Southeast Asian countries and Taiwan.
