The estimated profit after about 2 weeks of selling flowers online by Ms. Thanh is nearly 2.2 million VND.
Contributing capital to a flower seller for Valentine's Day, the last year's female student Tran My Huyen (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) chose social media as her main consumer market. Most of the products are sold to students studying in Can Tho and some neighboring provinces, with prices ranging from 55,000 - 250,000 VND/book. Still familiar flowers such as wax flowers, wool flowers, and zinc flowers, My Huyen's group created new designs to meet the needs of young people. In particular, some products are 20-30% cheaper than the market because they are handmade.
In the days near Valentine, we take advantage of all the free time to wrap flowers and return orders to customers. This revenue is expected to be equivalent to previous holidays. After deducting expenses, each person will have about 1.5 - 1.8 million VND in pocket, almost equal to our extra month's salary," My Huyen calculated.
Taking advantage of her free time, Ms. Phan Thuy My (24 years old, a worker at Tra Noc Industrial Park, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City) makes chocolate and cookies to earn extra income on Valentine's Day. With her cooking experience, Ms. My takes advantage of available items at home to make delicious handmade cakes and chocolate.
Chocolate and cookies come in many sizes, priced from 100,000 - 300,000 VND/box. With a storage time of 7 - 10 days, Ms. My proactively makes some products in advance to deliver them immediately if customers place an order.
Ms. My assessed that the number of customers ordering online is quite stable, mainly young people in the city. Opening for sale in the first year, not having much experience, profits are still low, but customer support is the motivation for Ms. My to boldly do business during other holidays.
